Such a delicacy as ice cream may contain a component that causes significant damage to human health, dietitian Mikhail Ginzburg told Gazeta.ru.
The expert noted that the matter concerns palm oil. Besides, high fat content in ice cream is harmful for organism.
According to the expert, manufacturers often increase the mass fraction of fat by adding low quality components. This can be palm oil, vegetable cream or analogue of milk fat. In this case, it is better to give up ice cream and give preference to frozen fruit or vegetable juices.
"Under such names, it is palm oil that is most often hidden, it brings trans fats into our diet, it accelerates the development of inflammatory processes in the body and can contribute to atherosclerosis," noted the nutritionist.
