Regular consumption of herbal hibiscus tea in the morning helps to reduce the level of blood pressure in patients with prehypertension and first-degree hypertension, Nutritionist Lauren Harris-Pincus (USA) noted.
According to Eat This, Not That !, research has shown that people drinking three cups of hibiscus tea a day experienced the same reduction in blood pressure as some standard medications.
To make the drink even healthier and tastier, a nutritionist recommends adding a little freshly squeezed pomegranate juice to it.
"Pomegranate juice contains polyphenol antioxidants. There are anthocyanins in the dark red pomegranate seeds, and ellagitannins in the rind and white flesh around the seeds," the nutritionist noted.
