In hot weather it is better to drink more clean water, and eat more vegetables, fruits, and greens. This opinion was expressed to RIA Novosti by Andrey Tyazhelnikov, a specialist at the Moscow Healthcare Department.
According to him, it is very important to control the body's salt-water balance, as the heat increases sweating, which increases the risk of dehydration. To avoid this, you need to drink more than usual.
At the same time, drinking too much is also harmful, as it increases the “burden” on the kidneys.
"In the heat it is better to drink clean water and beware of sweet and carbonated drinks. Coffee should not be abused, as it helps to remove the liquid," the specialist added.
In his words, consuming alcoholic beverages in hot weather is a bad idea. The reason is that alcohol disrupts thermoregulation and overloads the cardiovascular system, which can lead to serious complications.
Also, Tyazhelnikov advised to avoid heavy food in hot weather, and instead consume cold dishes—soups, salads, dairy products.
